Quickerflak review

A bite-sized, extremely fast-paced top-down-shooter that plays like a mixture of Hotline Miami and Walter Machado's somewhat more well-known 'Ubermosh'-series. Our unnamed protagonist finds himself in a succession of semi-randomly generated rooms, crawling with enemies hellbent on stopping him from reaching the exit. Everything dies in one hit and projectiles move quickly, which means that things get very frantic very fast. And while clearing all 15 rooms is likely to take quite a few attempts, most will probably do so in an hour or less. So not the most substantial game in the world, but more than makes up for it with highly enjoyable second-to-second gameplay, a stark and memorable artstyle, decent soundtrack and a surprising amount of polish and replayability. An easy recommendation.
