Mummy Sandbox review

Very light recommendation on this one. A simple excavation sim with some very lightweight, adventure-esque puzzle solving and a bizarre, retro-styled aethetic, it's not lacking for uniqueness at least, but with its short runtime and no challenge to speak of, it's not exactly the most substantial game on the market. The biggest problem, however, is the lack of memorability. Gameplay is unique in theme, but extremely simplistic in execution. The overall atmosphere is always slightly ominous, but never scary, it's surreal, but not a genuine fever dream, like some of its competitors. There's not much to see and no real memorable moments. It feels more like a proof-of-concept rather than a finished product. Worth a look, if the concept intrigues you, but probably best not to expect anything mindblowing.
